Ever miss the good old days of camping? Well camp trailers are bringing back the fun we are used to. The wild outdoors, living off the fat of the land, hitting the road to your heart’s content and all that freedom. Who could miss an opportunity like that.
Camp trailers come in different sizes, weights and utility value. While the option to drive your RV is attractive to most, some people prefer the option of being able to attach the trailer to their vehicle. Since many of these camp trailers can be towed by a full size minivan, jeep or sedan, it is perfect for family camping trips.
The advantage of towing camp trailers is the ability to park them at a suitable spot and then taking your car out sightseeing or shopping. You can’t necessarily do that if you are traveling in a huge truck like vehicle. Or even if you can, it makes the whole experience more difficult and time consuming, particularly if you get stuck in a traffic jam.
When buying a trailer you want to ensure that you have a good product that did not cost a fortune but will contribute to making you and your loved ones happy and comfortable on destination holidays or camping trips. A little study is necessary to find the perfect trailer for you and your family.
Types of Camp Trailers
You can choose either lightweight ones that barely weigh in at 1400 to 1600 pounds or camper tents or huge luxurious trailers meant for celebrities and the rich and famous. Almost all of these camp trailers have a toilet attached to the bathing area, sleeping rooms and a kitchen. The more luxurious come fitted with fully functioning kitchens, flat screen TV’s and house like interiors. If you have the money and are willing to travel with your family in style, then luxury camp trailers are your best bet.
However, if you are not ready to shell out that extra dough, and in this financial climate, who is, there are a number of reasonably priced trailers available for you. They won’t have the frills and the luxuries but they are in no way less comfortable or less enjoyable. Another advantage in choosing a reasonably priced camp trailer is the option of renovating and upgrading it at a later date.
Since you will be spending many hours in your trailer, a certain thoughtfulness should go into buying one. Is there enough storage space for your family. Are you able to walk upright through the entirety of the trailer. No use having to bend yourself over every time you enter your home-away-from-home.
If you are planning on taking your sports bike, your trailer will need to have the ability to handle the enormous weight of that vehicle. You should also check into the dealer’s history as well as the history of the company. Do they promise good products and do they deliver them. Do they take ownership for any of the problems that may arise.
Camp trailers are a fun way to spend time with your family and this should not be marred with maintenance issues.
